Weymouth Trip Underway

As has become traditional (well this is the second year and traditions have to start somewhere!), the club has headed done to the National Sailing Academy in Weymouth for some sea air and some blasting. About 20 club members will be down for some part of the trip.

The first day has been relatively warm, with some people even applying sunscreen (yes it is warmer down south!).

The club will be using there own GPS units and so borrowed units in order to run a bit of a speed competition. A few got some training in today although the wind didn’t really play ball for fast speeds. Still a good day to blow the cobwebs away and stretch that shrunken wetsuit out.

Whilst the speed competition is a friendly way of trying to improve our sailing, the really important event was the evening game of skittles where the competition was fierce right up to a final ‘bowl off’ to decide the champion.
